Inequality

In 1948, the NAACP Charlotte branch commissioned Dr. Martin D. Jenkins from Howard University to conduct an investigation of the city's public schools. In his report, he found that stark inequality existed between "white" schools and "black" schools. In these tables, Jenkins compiles evidence of physical and educational inequality that disadvantaged black pupils.
